Our Flag

Distress flag

I have been chastised for our flag by people saying that we should have more respect for Old Glory. While the symbolism isn’t always immediately apparent, this is a symbol of great respect to our flag, our forefathers, and the principles this country was founded on.

The Upside Down Flag: is a maritime symbol for “Ship in Distress.” It was flown this way to enlist aid for the ship and crew. Thus, A Republic in Distress.

The Blood Stains: Represent the men and women who have fought and died to protect the ideals of this flag.

The Tearing: Demonstrates the damage done to American values both domestically and abroad, from the growth of liberal-minded socialism and from the influence of the UN.

The Blurred Stars: This represents our fading state sovereignty. Amendment 10 of the Bill of Rights states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”

It is clear by Constitution, that the founding fathers intended the US Constitution to be a document that limited Federal Government to a specific purpose. If you read through the Bill of Rights it is clear that they were meant to additionally and specifically protect the freedom of the American People. Many Amendments subsequent to the Bill of Rights go on to protect Government. Our Government clearly no longer serves it’s people, and while I am proud of my country for the ideals and freedom is was founded upon, I will continue to post the flag upside down as we are truly a Republic in Distress.
